How to ensure successful interpretation

Accurate, fluent interpreting can be critical to the success of a conference. Good preparation is half the battle!

Please make all material available to the interpreters that could facilitate and improve their performance.

Please request all essential information and documents from co-organisers and speakers.

Please pass on any information and documents to the interpreters.

Provide appropriate external working conditions.

Professional interpreters base their work on professional standards.

These standards include the use of at least two interpreters per booth for conferences, a clear view of the speakers and the slides shown to the audience in the interpreters' booths, and, if possible, advance receipt of all speech manuscripts and presentation slides (such as PowerPoint presentations).

Keep close contact to all participants.
